Any man or woman looking for an all-natural anti-aging treatment may be a candidate for PRP as long as they do NOT have any of the following: Blood-borne cancer not in remission for at least five years, other blood-borne diseases or current infections, cerebral palsy or Parkinson’s disease, or patients using a high dosage of Coumadin would be advised not to undergo PRP therapy. Pregnant or Breastfeeding women should also consult with their primary care physician before having PRP treatment.

After an initial consultation, your nurse will take a blood sample from the arm. PRP is extracted in a special machine called a centrifuge. At Beautique Med Spa we have one of the best centrifuges available for Plasma extraction. Plasma extraction requires a very specific protocol to retrieve the highest concentration of PRP. Ensuring you are being treated by a qualified injector trained in plasma extraction will ensure you get the best quality plasma treatment. Depending on your goals with PRP treatment either a specialized mix of vitamins or a hyaluronic acid preparation will be added to your plasma concentrate. The target area for treatment is then cleansed with antiseptic and topical anesthetic cream is applied to reduce discomfort. The plasma is then loaded into a special PRP gun called the U225. Using the gun as opposed to regular syringes provides the patient with a much more comfortable and fast treatment. All our patients who have experience both syringe treatment and treatment with the U225 report a significant drop in pain and discomfort with the U225 gun.

The whole process, including consultation, takes approximately 1 hour.

PRP for hair loss is a relatively comfortable treatment. A topical anesthetic is applied to the target area. I lidocaine solution is also added to the plasma in some cases to numb the area completely.
